Membership

AHSCA Victorian Chapter has various levels of membership available to Consulting and Engineering professionals involved in the plumbing industry who wish to be members of the Association.

Qualification

The Association shall accept any person who has experience in the Consulting or Engineering profession involved in the design, documentation and construction of Plumbing Hydraulic Services for Buildings.

Tertiary qualification(s) in Hydraulic Services Design is desirable together with suitable specific experience in the field of Hydraulic Services Design.

Acceptance to the Association is subject to review of the Membership Committee approval.


Membership Categories

Hydraulic Services Design Membership categories available to persons with suitable experience as a Consultant or Engineer in the Hydraulic System for Buildings are as follows:

Fellow Member

Person having a minimum of twenty (20) years experience in the Hydraulic Services Design Industry in a recognised professional capacity. This experience shall entail the full spectrum of design, documentation, project administration, construction administration, site supervision or development of Plumbing Hydraulic Services Systems for buildings and projects.

Member

Person having a minimum of six (6) years experience in the Hydraulic Services Design Industry in a recognised professional capacity. This experience shall entail the full spectrum of design, documentation, project administration, construction administration, site supervision or development of Plumbing Hydraulic Services Systems for buildings and projects.

Associate Member

Person having a minimum of two (2) years and up to six (6) years’ experience in the Hydraulic Services Design Industry in a recognized professional capacity. This experience may entail design and, documentation of Plumbing Hydraulic Services Systems for buildings and projects.

Affiliate and Corporate Categories

Other categories are available to persons who work or are involved within the Plumbing / Hydraulic Services Industry that are not Consultants or Engineers and do not qualify for general membership but fall under various categories as follows:

Affiliate Member:

Person or representative of a Water Board or Authority, Government Body, Council or Student involved in the Plumbing Hydraulic Services Systems for the Plumbing / Building Industry. In addition, the Committee may endow membership to any person or representative of any organisation or body, beyond the plumbing industry whose interest is to advance the profession of the Association.

Plumbing Affiliate:

Person or representative of a Plumbing Contracting organisation involved in the Plumbing / Building Industry. Plumbing affiliate memberships may only be accepted and must be nominated and approved at the Association Annual General Meeting.

Affiliate Body:

A representative Body or organisation continually presenting to the Plumbing Services Industry a philosophy to advance the Industry.

Corporate Member:

Corporate (Gold) Representative Body or organisation continually presenting to the Plumbing Services Industry a philosophy to advance the Industry. This membership category provides the Corporate organisation opportunity to give presentations at membership meetings and other corporate opportunities directly to members and the industry.

Applications

Membership applications must be made via the official application form available on the website.

The applicant must be nominated and seconded by a current financial member and the application form must be lodged to the association Secretary complete with the following:

A Curriculum Vitae setting out all details of applicable experience within the hydraulic services industry; and
Reference(s) from current and past employer(s) confirming industry experience.
Other applications shall also be lodged with the Association Secretary on the applicable from complete with any necessary data required for the Membership Committee to make assessment of the application.

Upon assessment by the Membership Committee, the applicant will be notified in writing of the outcome of the application and if accepted, applicable fees will be payable.

Fees

Fees include an application or entrance fee for any new application together with the Annual fees payable for Association Membership. Fees for each membership category are reviewed annually.
